What are Augments in TFT?
Augments are bonuses you pick at set moments of a Teamfight Tactics game. Each time, you are offered three options and choose one, which lasts for the rest of the game. They can give gold, items, stronger traits or entirely new effects, so they often decide which team composition you play.
How Augments work
- Augment rounds: at set points in the game you are shown three Augments and keep one.
- Tiers: Augments come in Silver, Gold and Prismatic tiers, from smallest to strongest effect.
- Same tier for everyone: in each Augment round, every player in the lobby is offered the same tier, but different Augments.
- Rerolling the offer: you can usually refresh the options a limited number of times if none of them fits.
The exact number of Augment rounds, when they appear and the full list of Augments change from set to set, so check the current set before planning around a specific one.
Types of Augments

Example
At your first Augment round you have several units of one trait on your bench. One of the three options boosts that trait, so you take it and commit to that comp, instead of picking a generic combat Augment that fits any board.
Choosing well

Can I change an Augment after picking it?
No. Once you choose an Augment, it stays for the rest of the game.
Are Prismatic Augments always the best choice?
Not always. Prismatic Augments are the strongest tier, but an Augment that fits your board and items can be worth more than a powerful one that doesn’t.
