What Is FACEIT Elo in CS2?
FACEIT's skill rating for Counter-Strike 2: a number that rises and falls with each match and sets your level from 1 to 10.
What is FACEIT Elo in CS2?
FACEIT Elo is the skill rating of FACEIT, the third-party platform many Counter-Strike 2 players use instead of Valve's matchmaking. You gain Elo for wins and lose it for defeats, and your total decides your FACEIT level, from 1 to 10.
How FACEIT Elo changes
FACEIT runs its own matchmaking, servers and anti-cheat. After each match, Elo moves based on how likely your team was to win. Beating a stronger team pays more than beating a weaker one, and losing as the favorite costs more than losing as the underdog.
FACEIT does not publish the exact formula, so any calculator you find online is an estimate.
FACEIT levels and Challenger
Your Elo places you in one of ten skill levels. Level 10 starts at 2001 Elo and has no upper limit. The top 1,000 Level 10 players also get the Challenger badge, which depends on your position on the leaderboard rather than a fixed Elo.
FACEIT Elo vs. Premier Rating
CS2 also has an official ranked mode, Premier, with its own visible rating. The two systems are completely separate.
| FACEIT Elo | CS Rating (Premier) | |
|---|---|---|
| Run by | FACEIT (third-party platform) | Valve (official CS2 matchmaking) |
| Where you play | FACEIT client and servers | Inside CS2 |
| Anti-cheat | FACEIT Anti-Cheat | Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) |
| How skill is shown | Elo number and levels 1–10 | CS Rating number |
How to raise your FACEIT Elo
- Queue with a regular duo or stack. Better communication wins rounds that solo players throw.
- Master a small map pool instead of playing every map at an average level.
- Watch your own demos to catch repeated mistakes in positioning and utility.
- Drill the fundamentals, such as crosshair placement and counter-strafing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is FACEIT Elo the same as Premier Rating?
No. FACEIT Elo only exists on FACEIT and Premier Rating only exists in Valve's matchmaking. Progress in one has no effect on the other.
What is the highest FACEIT level?
Level 10, from 2001 Elo upwards. Above that there is no Level 11: the best players are separated by their Elo, and the top 1,000 Level 10 players carry the Challenger badge.
Why did I gain fewer Elo points than usual?
Your gain depends on how likely your team was to win. If your team was the favorite, a win is worth less and a loss costs more.
