What Is ADR (Average Damage per Round) in CS2?

The average damage you deal to enemies each round, a simple way to measure impact in CS2 and Valorant beyond kills.

What does ADR mean?

ADR (Average Damage per Round) is the total damage you dealt to enemies divided by the number of rounds you played. It shows how much you contribute to fights even when you do not get the kill, which makes it one of the most used performance stats in Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant.

How ADR is calculated

Add up all the damage you dealt to enemies in a match and divide it by the rounds played. Bullets count, and so does damage from grenades and other damaging utility. Damage to teammates does not.

Example

Over a 20-round match you deal 1,700 damage. Your ADR is 1,700 ÷ 20 = 85. A teammate with more kills but 1,300 damage over the same rounds has an ADR of 65.

Why ADR matters

Kills only credit whoever lands the final shot. ADR also rewards the player who did most of the work: a player who brings two enemies down to low health lets a teammate finish both, and that shows up in ADR even if the kill feed does not.

Reading ADR the right way

  • Look at many matches. One game’s ADR swings a lot; the average over weeks is more useful.
  • Consider your role. Entry players usually have higher ADR than players who hold sites or play for late rounds.
  • Damage without trades wastes rounds. High ADR is best when it turns into won rounds for the team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does utility damage count toward ADR?

Yes. Damage from grenades and other damaging utility counts, as long as it hits enemies.

Is ADR better than K/D?

They measure different things. ADR shows how much you contribute to fights; K/D shows how often you get the final shot versus how often you die. Looking at both gives a fuller picture.
